LISTENING LESSON 1

Skill:Listening

      Topic: Business communication

In this lesson teachers taught some key vocabulary used in business communication through listening exercises.

First, teacher Brendaly started the class by giving a name tag to each student. Then, she made questions about their day to break the ice. After that, students got in pairs and they played charades. 

After that teacher Sandra and Ricardo  pasted in the board both words and pictures in an unorganized way. Students had to go to the front and connect with an arrow the word and the picture. Teacher Ricardo matched the first one selecting a word they didn't knew. Lastly, teachers  pronounced a word and the rest of the class repeated.

Next, teacher Jackie and Michelle were in charge of explaining what was the listening about. Then, they asked students to go to page #3 in their handouts, and asked them randomly to read out loud the questions and options. Later teacher Jackie played the audio, when it was done she gave 1 minute for students to complete the exercise. Then they checked answers. 

After that, teacher Michelle asked to students to go to page #4 in their handouts, to scan the  text and do a filling in the blanks activity, finally together they checked the answers.

Besides, as a post activity; teacher Michell asked students to get in pairs and go to page #5 in their handouts, then she  assigned the scenarios to each couple and explained that they had to make a quick role-play following the scenario assigned to them. at last, each pair had to go to the front and do the role-play. 

Finally, teacher Brendaly finished the class with the wrap up by asking what did you learn today?
